Duleep Trophy, IND A vs IND B, Day 2: Match Highlights, Key Moments And Videos

Day 2 of the India A vs India B Duleep Trophy clash saw the game edge towards an exciting finish as both teams remain firmly in the hunt.

Here’s the timeline of how IND A vs IND B, Day 2 panned out in Bengaluru:

Musheer Khan’s heroics propel India B to 321

Resuming their innings at 202/7, India B was carried to a competitive total of 321, thanks to a record-breaking 8th-wicket partnership between Musheer Khan and Navdeep Saini.

Musheer Khan, who had already impressed with a gritty century on Day 1, continued his sublime form on Day 2. He marched on to a well-deserved 181, displaying exceptional patience and technique.

His partnership with Navdeep Saini, who contributed a valuable 56, added 205 crucial runs—the highest 8th-wicket partnership in the history of the Duleep Trophy. Musheer looked set for a double century before falling short, but his knock ensured India B had a fighting total on the board.

India A Openers Falter Under Pressure

In response, India A’s chase began on a shaky note. Test openers Shubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal, expected to provide a solid foundation, failed to convert their starts into big scores.

Gill, who has been in prime form in recent months, fell for 25, while Agarwal managed 36 before falling prey to the impressive Navdeep Saini, who wreaked havoc with the new ball.

Saini, riding high on confidence after his batting heroics, produced a stellar bowling performance, claiming both openers.

KL Rahul and Riyan Parag Steady the Ship

Despite the early blows, India A found stability through the experienced KL Rahul and the young Riyan Parag. Rahul, who survived an early scare when he was dropped on 4, went on to grind out 23 runs from 80 deliveries.

His cautious approach reflected the testing nature of the pitch, with the ball staying low at times and offering movement to the pacers.

On the other hand, Riyan Parag played with more freedom, striking some delightful drives during his stay at the crease. His 27 from 49 balls provided much-needed momentum to India A’s innings. The duo took India A to 134/2 at stumps, trailing by 187 runs.

All Results Still Possible Heading Into Day 3

With two days remaining, the match is finely poised, and all four results—an India A win, India B victory, a tie, or even a draw—remain possible.

India A, still trailing by 187 runs, will need their middle-order to step up if they are to avoid conceding a significant first-innings deficit.

However, with the pitch continuing to offer assistance to the fast bowlers, India B will feel they have the upper hand.
