Gurbaz batted magnificently for Capitals [X.com]

Dubai Capitals and Sharjah Warriors lock horns in Match 5 of the International League T20 (ILT20) in Dubai on Monday (January 22). 

The Capitals eye another win under their belt after defeating the MI Emirates in their popular clash on Saturday. 

For the Warriors, it's an opportunity to overcome their loss in the opening game versus the Gulf Giants, who dominated them on home turf in Sharjah.

Dubai Capitals 

The Capitals rallied on the back of terrific knocks from wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Jake Fraser-McGurk to their win. While Gurbaz smashed a brilliant 81 off just 39 deliveries, Jake belted an enterprising 54 off 25 of his own to take the Capitals home in the chase of 160. 

Earlier, Sikandar Raza (3/21) and Jason Holder (3/36) bagged three-fers for the Capitals and found able support from Dushmantha Chameera (1/21) and Akif Raja (1/20), who kept things tight and offered no respite to the MI batters. 

The Capitals would be eyeing another such allround display when they grace the field again for a clash against the under-pressure Warriors.

Sharjah Warriors 

The Warriors would've been livid with the defeat against the Gulf Giants after their bowling attack fell apart either side of mystery tweaker Maheesh Theekshana's outstanding burst of 4 for 15. They conceded a mammoth 198/7 and were crushed by the asking rate in the second half. 

Despite an impressive start by Martin Guptill (40) and Johnson Charles (57), the Warriors collapsed and were restricted to just 167/7 following minimal contributions from the rest of the batting unit. 

Their inexperienced and unstable middle-order will be an area of concern for them as they now head to Dubai for another challenging face-off.
