MS Dhoni, the former India skipper was known to bring out his best in crisis situation and it seems that the same expertise has been now passed to Sameer Rizvi, the youngster who played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2024. Rizvi is leading Kanpur Superstars in the second season of the UP T20 League, and in the first match itself, the man has displayed superb skills and temperament by smashing 89 off 51 balls

He was a lone-warrior for his team, just like MS Dhoni used to be sometimes for CSK and Indian team during his prime.

Kanpur Stars were reduced to 50-6 while batting first at one point in time, but Rizvi who walked out to bat at number 3, single-handedly carried his team and smashed eight fours and six sixes in his unbelievable knock at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.

IPL Experience For Sameer Rizvi - A Valuable Lesson

Kanpur scored 156 in their 20 overs and out of those 89 were scored by Rizvi. The next highest score for Kanpur came from Shubham Mishra who scored just 17, which speaks a lot about the quality of the knock, the young CSK star played.

Rizvi played few handy knocks for CSK in the 2024 season, and with the kind of power he has, the right-handed batter surely has a bright future. He first caught everyone's eye during the inaugural edition of the UP T20 League, but seems an even better player this time around, and it is evident that his stint with CSK has helped him develop as a cricketer.
