Barbados Royals steamrolled St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the 18th match of CPL 2024 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The outcome also helped Rovman Powell and co. to secure a spot in the impending playoffs.

Here’s the timeline of how BR vs SKN panned out in Barbados:

BR vs SKN Highlights: Naveen-Ul-Haq Ruffles Up Patriots Top-Order

Frugal with the new-ball, Barbados Royals seamer Naveen-ul-Haq pulverized St Kitts & Nevis Patriots’ top-order with the sudden wickets of Evin Lewis and Kyle Mayers. All-rounder Rahkeem Cornwall also got into the act by accounting for the exits of a well-set Andre Fletcher and number five Mikyle Louis in successive deliveries as the Royals crashed to 49-4 in 7.2 overs.

Cornwall also trapped Wanindu Hasaranga a couple of overs later in the innings while Obed McCoy had Rilee Rossouw caught out by captain Rovman Powell at mid-off as the Patriots reached a sluggish 61-6 before strategic timeout.

Rahkeem Cornwall demolished Patriots further by adding Odean Smith and Ryan John into his collection of victims for the night. The Barbados Royals’ off-spinner ended up claiming at least a wicket in each of his four overs to bag career-best T20 figures of 5-16.

Joshua Da Silva and tailender Anrich Nortje stitched together a 39-run defiance to lift Patriots from 69-8 and took them past the 100-run mark. However, Naveen-ul-Haq and Obed McCoy cleared up their resistance in the space of just three deliveries to blow away the entire Patriots line-up for just 110 in 19.1 overs.

Barbados Royals openers Quinton de Kock and Kadeem Alleyne forged a fiery powerplay start to take their team to 57-0 inside the first six overs of the run-chase. Alleyne listed a couple of boundaries and a huge six to make a swift 15-ball 23 before he was deceived by Patriots spinner Wanindu Hasaranga.
