Trinbago Knight Riders outclassed St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in a high-scoring thriller to win the third match of the CPL 2024 season at the Warner Park in St Kitts.

Here’s the timeline of how SKNP vs TKR panned out in Antigua:

SKNP vs TKR Highlights: Sunil Narine Pummels Patriots In Powerplay

Opening the innings with Jason Roy, Trinbago Knight Riders all-rounder Sunil Narine bashed 38 runs from just 19 deliveries with three boundaries and four huge sixes. Narine scored all his runs within the first four overs of the match before his dismissal to Ryan John at 44-1. Soon after Narine’s exit, a struggling Roy also walked back to the sheds as he was cleaned up by Patriots’ South African-based speed gun Anrich Nortje.

Nicholas Pooran exploded with a few lusty hits instantly upon his arrival as the Knight Riders reached 74-2 by the first six overs.

SKNP vs TKR Highlights: Nicholas Pooran Blitz Sets Up TKR’s 250

Nicholas Pooran led Knight Riders’ counterattacking recovery by sharing 122 runs with number four Keacy Carty. The explosive wicketkeeper-batter launched nine sixes and seven boundaries in his 43-ball turbulent knock of 97 runs.

Pooran smacked Tabraiz Shamsi over wide long-on to bring up a 21-ball half-century in the 12th over of the innings, before blitzing the Knight Riders across the 200-run mark. While he missed out a well-deserved century by a whisker to a thunderbolt from Nortje, Keacy Carty’s explosive 35-ball 73* ensured the Knight Riders charted 250-4 from 20 overs.

SKNP vs TKR Highlights: Josh Little Seizes Early Advantage For TKR

TKR fast bowler Joshua Little struck twice with the new-ball by getting rid of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots opener Andre Fletcher for a duck and number three Kyle Mayers for six. Little’s double-strike was succeeded by a brief resistance from Evin Lewis and Mikyle Louis, where the former responded back with four boundaries and two sixes to crack 23-ball 39.

After Evin became the first of Waqar Salamkheil’s two victims of the evening, Louis and Tristan Stubbs ensured the Patriots soared past the 100-run mark in less than 12 overs.

SKNP vs TKR Highlights: Sunil Narine Eases Mikyle’s Mayhem In Big TKR Win

Mikyle Louis at number four went berserk with 56 runs from just 38 deliveries to top-score for the Patriots in their high-scoring pursuit. Signaling Patriots’ brief fightback in the game, Sunil Narine and Terrance Hinds tilted the tide back in Knight Riders’ favor by picking up three quick wickets between them.

Narine got rid of Mikyle and Sherfane Rutherford in quick succession to bag economical figures of 2-24 from four overs, while Hinds accounted for the exit of a well-set Tristan Stubbs (39 off 19 balls). Ryan John whacked a few big hits in the slog overs but his cameo merely took the Patriots to 206-8 as they fell 44 runs short of their target.
