The BBL 2024-25 has been under full sway with exciting clashes thrilling fans and the 24th match was also nothing short of a high-score-chasing thriller. The Adelaide Strikers faced the Hobart Hurricanes at Bellerive Oval in Hobart, scoring a total of 186 runs after batting first. The Hurricanes efficiently chased down the target, winning the match with eight balls to spare.

Chris Lynn announced his comeback in the BBL with a massive 88 against the Melbourne Renegades in his last match and continued to swing his bat in the current game. The explosive opener knocked a fiery 49 off 27 balls to kickstart Strikers' innings before he was denied his half-ton by Waqar Salamkheil stunned him with a googly in the 9th over.

After D'Arcy Short and Jake Weatherald's dismissals, Lynn was powering Strikers' innings from one end and bashed 3 sixes and 5 boundaries while doing so. After he left the crease, the Alex Ross-led team was standing strong at 75-3 at the end of 8.3 overs.

After suffering initial wobbles from the Hurricanes' bowlers, the Strikers looked stable as Ollie Pope also contributed after Lynn with his 33 off 27. However, Alex Ross and Jamie Overton sweetened the deal for the team with their blazing knocks. Partnering for 31 runs off 17 balls, the duo racked up commendable individual scores at a massive strike rate to put up a total of 186 for the Hurricanes.

While Ross cooked 47 off 29 balls, Jamie also bagged an impressive 27 off 18 to stun the Hurricanes' bowlers. Ross smashed a single six and 6 boundaries in his innings while Jamie booked one of each.

Mitchell Owen played a remarkable innings and came in with an aggressive mindset to bash every ball. Oweb scored 37 off 16 giving a boost to Hurricanes' innings with his 3 towering sixes and 2 boundaries. However, his fiery inning was cut short by Lloyd Pope as he trapped him for a stump with a leg break in the 5th over.

Owen's fall was poorly addressed by the Hurricanes camp, as Matthew Wade, Shai Hope, and Ben McDermott followed soon after with disappointing scores thanks to the spells of Boyce and Pope, leaving the Hurricanes in a difficult position at 101-4 after 10.4 overs.

Tim David, who came in after Ben McDermott, played a remarkable knock to dash the hopes of the Strikers. The initial wobble of the Hurricanes was stabilized by David's quickfire as he partnered with Nikhil Chaudhary for 75 runs. While the latter was dismissed in the 18th over, Tim David guided the team home with his unbeatable 62 off 28 balls

David's heroics resulted in a 5-wicket win for the Hurricanes. The win significantly makes it 4 victories for the Nathan Ellis-led team out of the five games they have played in BBL 2024-25. Hurricanes will next face the Sydney Thunder on January 8 to bag another point and fight it off for the playoffs.
