India's pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah and Australia's iconic fast bowler Glenn McGrath shared a memorable moment on Day 3 of the fifth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The meeting of two generational talents, often hailed as GOATs (Greatest of All Time) of fast bowling, left fans in awe as they exchanged pleasantries.

It was a picturesque moment when McGrath shook hands with Bumrah. McGrath symbolizes the golden age of fast bowling, while Bumrah represents the modern era of pace. Hence, the greeting became somehow symbolic of the passing of the torch from one generation to another.

McGrath Greets Bumrah At SCG

As both India and Australia donned the pink jersey in tribute to Jane McGrath, Glenn McGrath's wife, a heartfelt initiative to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer, Glenn was seen greeting the players as the camera closed in on the two greats Bumrah and McGrath exchanging words and having a firm handshake.

Glenn McGrath, with an illustrious Test career spanning 124 matches, boasts remarkable stats. The Australian legend scalped 563 wickets at an average of 21.64 and an exceptional economy of 2.49. His career-best figures of 8/24 and a record 29 five-wicket hauls underline his unparalleled dominance. Bowling in an era that featured some of the finest batters like Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara, McGrath cemented his place among cricket’s all-time greats.

On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah, India’s modern-day great pacer and stand-in captain for the ongoing Test, is carving his legacy. In just 44 Tests, Bumrah has amassed 203 wickets at an average of 19.42 and a strike rate of 42.2. Known for his lethal accuracy and unique bowling action, Bumrah has already achieved 13 five-wicket hauls, with a best of 6/27. In the ongoing series, Bumrah has amassed 32 wickets so far steering India to be at its best.

While McGrath's consistency and longevity are unmatched, Bumrah’s impact on modern cricket is undeniable. His ability to deliver under pressure and dominate in all formats places him in a league of his own.

India Posts Weak Total For Australia To Chase

Meanwhile, India posted 157 runs on the board in their second innings of the fifth Test and gave Australia a target of 162 to chase. Usman Khawaja and Sam Konstas started aggressively to pack up the chase as the Indian quicks looked to defend the low total to secure the last match of the series.
