The Brisbane Heat and the Adelaide Strikers are taking on each other in the ninth match of the BBL 2024-25. This match is being played at the iconic Gabba Stadium in Brisbane.

Ahead of the game, the Brisbane Heat won the toss and opted to field first. Both the Heat and the Strikers are looking for their second win this tournament.

The Strikers would have hoped for a good start from their openers, however, things did not turn out in their favour as D'Arcy Short departed quickly. After the early departure of the left handed Short it was upto Matt Short and Chris Lynn to take the innings forward.

Chris Lynn Tonks A Monstrous Maximum

Chris Lynn is generally known for his aggressive batting from the start of the innings. The right handed batter has played leagues all around the world and has time and again proved himself in the T20 format. The aggressive intent was evident in his batting during the latest clash with the Heat.

On the last delivery of the third over, Lynn turned it on for Xavier Bartlett. It was a pitched up delivery at the middle and leg stump line. Chris Lynn spotted the slower delivery quickly and went down the track a couple of steps before swatting the ball away over mid-wicket fence for a maximum. The ball sailed into the stands for a huge maximum, the records later showed that it travelled 104 meters. The shot will remind many IPL fans of the old days when Chris Lynn used assault bowlers regularly for KKR.
