South African pacer Kagiso Rabada dominated Bangladesh to bag a fifer in the second Test currently underway in Chattogram. After his team declared first innings at 575/6, Rabada tormented the host's top and middle order to complete his 16th five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

South Africa are marching strongly towards the World Test Championships finals after an impressive victory on Bangladesh’s soil in the first Test held at Mirpur. The second Test was moved to Chattogram where the visitors batted first and haunted Bangladesh with a colossal first innings total of 575/6.

Tony de Zorzi, Tristan Stubbs and Mulder scored a hundred each before skipper Aiden Markram declared the innings. The wicket appeared good for batting and Bangladesh were confident of a befitting reply in the second innings.

Kagiso Rabada's carnage on Bangladesh continues!

However, the hosts perhaps undermined the threat of Kagiso Rabada. The man who claimed a fifer in the first Test, extended his unreal dominance in Chattogram as well.

He got the first breakthrough in Shadman Islam and following a heated exchange, Zakir Hasan played a loose shot to edge to Verreynne at slips. For skipper Shanto, Rabada devised a plan to bowl a shot of length delivery that angled in late, leaving Shanto in two minds as he nicked it to Verreynne.

For the fourth wicket, Rabada’s peach delivery shocked Mehidy Hasan Miraz as his lack of footwork induced a thick edge to slip cordon. Debutant Mahidul Islam, too, couldn't weather Rabada’s fiery spell as he was adjudged LBW off a two-ball duck.

With that, Kagiso Rabada clinched his second consecutive fifer and also his career 16th five-wicket-haul. He has been an absolute match winner for South Africa since debut and now he’s even groomed enough to make an impact in subcontinent conditions.

Rabada reclaims top spot in ICC Test rankings

After a five year hiatus, Kagiso Rabada is crowned no.1 Test bowler in revised ICC Men’s Test players rankings. He dethroned Indian spearhead Jasprit Bumrah to reclaim the spot after he bagged 9 wickets in the first Test against Bangladesh. He also breached the 300 Test wickets mark, which added to his overall rating.
