India will face off against New Zealand in the third Test match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on Friday, November 1. The game is set to begin at 9:30 AM IST. With a place in the World Test Championship (WTC) final on the line, Rohit Sharma & co. will be keen to bounce back after two back-to-back defeats against New Zealand.

In the first match in Bengaluru, rain and overcast conditions challenged the Indian side, which collapsed for just 46 runs in the first innings. New Zealand capitalised and clinched victory by eight wickets. Moving to Pune, India’s batters again struggled on a spin-friendly pitch, resulting in a 113-run defeat. Now, a loss in Mumbai would put India in a tight spot, forcing them to secure four wins in their upcoming series against Australia to keep hopes alive for their third consecutive WTC final berth. India currently leads the WTC standings with a 62.82% win rate and can stay at the top with a win in Mumbai, while Kiwis sit fourth at a 50% win rate and can move up to third with a win.

New Zealand’s journey to a second WTC final looks challenging, but a win here could hinder India's WTC campaign. Playing at the Wankhede Stadium, where only two Tests have been hosted, New Zealand will be aiming to bring their best against India.
