Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife, Dhanashree Verma recently found herself in the eye of a massive social media controversy. A couple of weeks ago, a photograph of her in a close embrace with choreographer Pratik Utekar had sparked a firestorm on the internet.

Labelled 'excessively intimate' by netizens, the image became the flashpoint for a deluge of criticism, leaving Verma at the mercy of the social media world's unsparing gaze. The backlash was swift and merciless, igniting a controversy that spiralled beyond just social media chatter.

Dhanashree Verma pleads fans to be empathetic in face of online hate

Trolls and netizens across the globe launched a barrage of distasteful comments, pushing Dhanashree Verma to seek refuge in a social media detox to get away from the chaos.

Emerging from her Instagram detox, Yuzvendra Chahal's wife, Dhanashree took to Instagram and posted a heartfelt video message. In her plea, she implored her followers to take the path of sensitivity and understanding, reminding them of the human faces behind the screens.

"Hi everyone! Before I resume my Instagram, I felt that I wanted to share a few things," she began, opening the floodgates to her inner turmoil.

Her words expressed how she felt like a woman besieged by the shadows of unwarranted judgment.

"I have never in my life been affected by trolls or memes...until this very recent troll occurred," she confessed, her message conveying the impact of online vitriol not just on individuals, but on their loved ones too.




Calling for a ceasefire in the war of words that had engulfed her life, Dhanashree called for empathy and kindness in an evironment often dominated by hostility.

"Just requesting you guys to be a little more sensitive...I am also just a woman just like your mother, your sister, your friend, your wife," she implored.

However, Dhanshree declared her resolve to not surrender to the darkness.

"I am known as a fighter, and I never give up...But please, spread love and be sensitive about a few things, and don’t spread hate, please," she affirmed.

Meanwhile, Dhanashree garnered support from some quarters in the comments section, however, there was a certain section of the masses that continued to troll her.
