In a recent photo that has got the internet talking, Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal's wife, Dhanashree Verma, has found herself at the centre of a controversial storm. 

Her photograph with choreographer Pratik Utekar, deemed 'excessively intimate' by the digital masses, has drawn fierce criticism from netizens across the world.

Dhanashree Verma's now-viral image shows Utekar with his arms tightly encircled around her, standing ominously close, igniting a firestorm of backlash against her for the decision to publicise such a provocatively cozy moment with another man.

However, defiant in the face of relentless online vitriol and shaming, Dhanashree Verma doubled down by sharing yet another photo with Utekar on her Instagram Story on Sunday, March 3. 

This subsequent post continued in a similar vein, with Verma casually posing alongside Utekar, fuelling the fiery public debate.

This incident unfolded against the backdrop of Dhanashree Verma's recent high-profile stint as a finalist on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Ja, where former Big Boss contestant Manisha Rani narrowly outshined her. 

Despite the support of her husband, Yuzvendra Chahal, who passionately campaigned for votes on her behalf, Dhanshree fell just short of clinching the title.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the couple's first rodeo with social media controversy; there have previously been rumours of marital strife.

Meanwhile, adding to the whirlwind of personal challenges, Yuzvendra Chahal is struggling with professional setbacks, having been omitted from BCCI's central contracts list for the 2023-24 season, as well as being sidelined from India's squads for the Asia Cup 2023 and the World Cup 2023.

With his prospects for participation in the T20 World Cup 2024 hanging by a thread, the upcoming IPL 2024 season looms large, where Chahal will don the Rajasthan Royals jersey. It presents an indispensable opportunity for the leg-spinner to reclaim his spot in the Indian team.
