TATA Motors decided to commemorate Ellyse Perry's explosive performance during the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 in a rather unique manner. After Perry's ferocious hit shattered the window of a Tata Punch EV parked near the boundary line at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the company chose not just to forgive but to celebrate the incident by gifting the star player a framed piece of the action.

Ellyse Perry's car window-smashing six got a memorable tribute from TATA Motors

The Ellyse Perry car window incident occurred during a high-octane match between Royal Challengers Bangalore Women (RCB W) and UP Warriorz on March 4, where Perry's powerful strike sent the ball crashing through the car window.

The Australian all-rounder's 37-ball 58 not only left spectators in awe but also left a tangible mark on the sidelines. Post-match, Perry humorously noted her lack of insurance coverage for the mishap, but TATA Motors had a creative solution up their sleeve.

After RCB's victory in the WPL 2024 Eliminator, TATA presented Ellyse Perry with the broken glass window, now artfully framed, with the inscription “Courtesy #PerryPowerfulPunch 04-03-24.” This gesture turned a moment of accidental destruction into a unique tribute to Perry's impact on the field.

But shattering windows isn't the only way Perry has been leaving her mark on the WPL 2024. The dynamic pall-rounder has been consistently breaking records, not just glass. She enthralled the crowd again with a 50-ball 66 and took 1/29 from her four overs against Mumbai Indians Women in the Eliminator, securing her team's win by defending a modest total of 135.

Perry's outstanding performances have catapulted her to the top of the charts as the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 312 runs across 8 matches. Notably, she also set a new WPL record for the best bowling figures with an impressive 6/15 in RCB's last league match against Mumbai.

As RCB Women gear up to face Delhi Capitals Women in the WPL 2024 final, all eyes will be on Perry, whose trailblazing contributions have been nothing short of spectacular.
