Shilpa Shirodkar Breaks Silence On Infamous Dating Rumours With Sachin Tendulkar In 90s

Before cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar married Anjali in 1995, there were rumours linking him to Bollywood actress Shilpa Shirodkar. However, both Sachin and Shilpa have strongly denied these rumours, calling them baseless and silly.

Shilpa is a popular Bollywood actress who rose to fame for her roles in films like Gopi Kishan, Aankhen, and Hum. However, at the peak of her career, she married UK-based banker Aparesh Ranjit in 2000 and settled abroad, leaving the film industry.

Shilpa Shirodkar Calls Affair Rumours With Sachin Tendulkar Baseless

However, before Shilpa Shirodkar got married, she was linked to legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. The rumours reportedly started after the two met once through a mutual connection in the 90s era.

But in an old interview with Red FM, Shilpa clarified how she met Sachin. She said that since she was an actress and Tendulkar was already becoming a famous cricketer, people were quick to assume there was something more between them. 

"When I was doing Hum, I met Sachin for the first time, because Sachin jaha pe rehte the mere cousin brother waha par rehte the. Sachin and my cousin brother used to play cricket together in Bandra East. So, that’s how I met Sachin," Shilpa said.

She also mentioned that she met Sachin only once, and the rumours were blown out of proportion. 

"And Sachin was already seeing Anjali at that time, which was not told to anybody. We all knew because we were friends. Because an actor is meeting a cricketer and he was Sachin Tendulkar, it became easy for people to say, aree and I met him once," she added.

Later, Sachin Tendulkar married Anjali in 1995, and the couple has been together ever since. They’ve two kids, Sara and Arjun, with the latter following in his father’s footsteps in the field of cricket.

As for Shirodkar, she recently made a comeback to acting. She was seen on Bigg Boss and will soon appear in a new project called Jatadhara.

In short, both Shilpa and Sachin have made it clear that there was never any relationship between them, and the rumours were simply false.
