After India's successful counter-terror operations under 'Operation Sindoor,' former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has been mercilessly trolled on social media for his past remarks against India's security forces. Fans made memes and exposed him completely.
The Indian Armed Forces carried out a series of precision strikes on May 7, 2025, targeting nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (Pok).
The action, which lasted 25 minutes, was in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 that killed 26 civilians. Over 80 terrorists linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were reportedly neutralised.
Shahid Afridi Humiliated By Trolls On Social Media
While Indians united to applaud the bravery of their armed forces, former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi’s earlier comments during a TV appearance resurfaced and triggered a storm of backlash.
He had said, “8 lakh fauj hai aur yeh ho gaya? Iska matlab nalayak ho, nikamme ho na tum log security de nahi sake.”
His statement, seen as mocking India’s military capabilities, did not sit well with many, especially after the surgical success of 'Operation Sindoor.' As news of the strike went viral, Indian social media users unleashed a barrage of memes and taunting posts against Afridi.

The trolling speaks to not only a response to Shahid Afridi’s statement but continued to build on a public sentiment of nationalism online. As tensions between India and Pakistan remain high, Afridi’s controversial take has only deepened the public’s anger.
