Shikhar Dhawan has once again found himself at the center of a social media storm not for his on-field heroics, but due to a viral post that appeared to mock Pakistan in the wake of India's recent military operation, 'Sindoor'. However, a closer look reveals that the trending picture was not shared in response to the operation, and certainly not by Dhawan himself.

Shikhar Dhawan's Viral Post

The post in question shows Shikhar Dhawan relaxing in a swimming pool, sipping a cup of tea. The image was captioned, “Aur kaisi lagi chai padosiyon?” (How was the tea, neighbours?), a taunt that quickly went viral across social media platforms. The tweet has amassed over 1.2 million views and continues to draw praise from Indian fans who see it as a symbolic dig at Pakistan.

However, the image was not newly posted in response to the operation. A fact check reveals that the original picture was shared by Dhawan in February 7, 2024.

Does The Post Has Afridi-Dhawan Connection?

Days earlier, former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi stirred controversy by making insensitive remarks following the Pahalgam terror attack. In response, Shikhar Dhawan took to social media to remind Afridi of the Kargil conflict.

Afridi, in turn, sarcastically told Dhawan to 'relax and have some tea'. The phrase that has now come full circle with this viral image of Dhawan. It is important to note that Shikhar Dhawan did not post the viral caption following Operation Sindoor. The post was repurposed by a fan page, and the photograph itself is from early February.

What Is Operation Sindoor?

India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 7 as a retaliatory strike in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of multiple security personnel. According to reports, Indian forces targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
