In a hilarious social media story, KL Rahul showcased his football skills and tagged his new IPL team owner, Parth Jindal, to seek an opportunity at the latter’s ISL team, Bengaluru FC. In the video captured during the first Test between India and Australia at Perth, Rahul was seen juggling the ball with his foot, and his hidden talent impressed the fans.
KL Rahul parted ways with Lucknow Super Giants after a rift with owner Sanjiv Goenka broke out in the open during IPL 2024. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals, owned jointly by GMR and Jindal Group, picked him for IPL 2025 mega auction at INR 14 crore. Rahul is all set to lead DC in upcoming IPL season though an official word is yet to come from the franchise.
KL Rahul turns footballer, asks for job from DC owner
That being said, the camaraderie between KL Rahul and DC co-owner Parth Jindal is already flashing as the cricketer tagged the businessman in his Instagram story. Rahul, who has often expressed his love for football, humorously pitched himself as a potential recruit for the Bengaluru-based football team.
KL Rahul posted a video of himself juggling a cricket ball during the Perth Test against Australia while jokingly asking Jindal whether an opening was available in the ISL team, Bengaluru FC, which Parth Jindal owns.
Although seeing him on an ISL pitch is a far cry, the exchange was an epitome of the camaraderie between players and team owners as Rahul marks a new chapter in his IPL journey with DC.
Rahul is not DC's clear cut captaincy choice
In an interesting revelation, Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal refused to dub KL Rahul as confirmed captain for the IPL 2025 season. In a statement, he said that Rahul will stabilise and anchor the top order and that the Delhi wicket will suit him. Still, as far as his captaincy is concerned, it's a level playing ground between Rahul and Axar Patel. Ahead of the mega auction, Patel was retained for INR 16.5 crores and the ownership of DC has profound faith in his leadership skills.
