After the IPL 2025 mega auction, Delhi Capitals is left with a strong squad that may have just the right amount of firepower to win a trophy in the 2025 edition of the IPL. The franchise, co-owned by Parth Jindal, acquired 19 players in Jeddah, bringing their total squad size to 23.

KL Rahul remains DC's most expensive purchase from the two-day event, costing an impressive INR 14 crore. They also secured some excellent deals, including Ashutosh Sharma and Sameer Rizvi, both, under INR 5 crore.

Historically, DC has faced challenges in the IPL, with their best result being a runner-up finish in 2020. However, this time, the team looks strong on paper, and several players have the potential to change their fortunes.

Here’s a look at some of the key players for DC who could be crucial in IPL 2025.

3 players who can be X-factors for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025

3. Tristan Stubbs

Tristan Stubbs, the star from the Proteas, was retained by Delhi Capitals for INR 10 crore and has demonstrated his value in the middle order, earning the trust of the team. In his IPL career, Stubbs has played 18 matches, accumulating 405 runs with a strike rate of 173.82 and an average of 36.82.

His ability to anchor innings in the middle order, combined with explosive batting alongside Ashutosh and Axar Patel, could prove to be a winning strategy for both chasing targets and posting big scores.

2. Jake Fraser-McGurk

Jake Fraser-McGurk was acquired by DC for INR 9 crore using the RTM card, and it seems they made a wise choice. The Australian player was impressive in IPL 2024, boasting an astonishing strike rate of 234.04 over 9 matches for the Capitals.

Partnering with Faf Du Plessis as openers, Jake could help kickstart DC's innings with explosive batting at the top. This duo has the potential to surpass the 70-run mark during the powerplay, giving the team a significant advantage for the rest of the match.

1. Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc, the Australian bowling sensation, is known for his raw pace and deadly accuracy, which can trouble any batter. In the 2024 edition of the IPL, KKR signed him as the most expensive player for INR 24.75 crore. However, this time DC acquired him for INR 11.75 crore.

Throughout his IPL career, the seamer has played 41 matches and taken 51 wickets at an economy rate of 8.21. As a death bowler, he will complement DC's bowling lineup, alongside Natarajan and established spinners like Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel.
