Virat Kohli recently shared that ‘Nee Singam Dhan’ from the Tamil film Pathu Thala, starring Silambarasan TR, is his favourite song. Now the actor has expressed his ambition to feature in the star Indian cricketer’s biopic.
Kohli, 36, retired from Test cricket last week, a move that left fans shocked and emotional. He is nearing the end of what has been a legendary and glorious career.
While Virat is committed to playing IPL and ODI cricket for a while, talks over his biopic have been a hot topic for years now. Adding to the list of probable actors, a Tamil entertainer has expressed his sincere wish.
Silambarasan TR Open To Do Virat Kohli’s Biopic
Earlier this month, Virat Kohli was asked about his current favourite song. Smiling, he replied, “You will be shocked,” and played ‘Nee Singam Dhan’ from the Tamil film Pathu Thala, starring Silambarasan TR (also known as Simbu) and composed by AR Rahman.
Simbu, the actor featured in the song, noticed the video and reshared it on social media. Moreover, he recently told the media that he wants to act in the biopic of Kohli, if ever made.
Interestingly, Silambarasan resembles Kohli’s facial features and intense personality. Currently, Simbu is busy with multiple big projects, including Thug Life with Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam, as well as STR 49, STR 50, and STR 51.
As for Kohli, after retirement from Test cricket, he rejoined RCB for the remainder of IPL 2025.
Bharat Ratna For Kohli? Ex-Cricketer’s Big Demand
Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has urged the Indian government to award Virat Kohli the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour. Raina praised Kohli’s immense contributions to Indian cricket, especially after Kohli recently retired from Test cricket with 9,230 runs and 30 centuries. Comparing his impact to that of Sachin Tendulkar, Raina believes Kohli's legacy deserves the same prestigious recognition.
