Aakash Chopra on SRH's weakness [Source: @srhfansofficial/X.com]
Former Indian cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra has shared his thoughts on Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of their important IPL 2025 clash against Lucknow Super Giants. Chopra questioned SRH’s overall impact this season despite having talented players.
SRH, last year’s runners-up, stands eliminated from the playoff race this season after losing 7 of their 11 games so far. Next, they’ll face LSG on May 19 at Lucknow.
However, Aakash Chopra has criticised Hyderabad for not making the most of their roster's potential.
Aakash Chopra Expects No Change In SRH Next Year
Sunrisers Hyderabad started the IPL 2025 season with one of the most lethal batting lineups in the league. However, somehow, the squad failed to live up to their potential. Moreover, analyst Aakash Chopra believes that SRH appears just good on paper.
"It's an interesting franchise. If they want to do something different next year because they got eliminated early this year, when you look towards Chennai and Rajasthan, you say the changes are palpable, weaknesses are not seen in this team as such. Why would you let anyone go in the batting order?" Chopra said on YouTube.
Also he feels the management is unlikely to make any changes to the roster next year, as they already have some big names. According to Chopra, it’s important for SRH to not just rely on individual talent but to come together as a team and play to their full potential.
"They will hope that everyone comes together somehow and does well. I don't see much change in this team's composition next year. In this match also, their focus would be to try and give fans what they want and to play to their potential. If you are a good player, you also need to look good. What's the point of just being good?" he added.
Travis Head Ruled Out Of SRH vs LSG Clash Due To Covid-19
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) star opener Travis Head has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss the team’s next IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants. Head was delayed in returning from Australia due to the virus and will arrive on Monday.
The Aussie is expected to be available for the next match against RCB. SRH are already eliminated from the tournament, sitting 8th with 11 games played.
