Virat Kohli Tribute! Sea Of White Takes Over Chinnaswamy As Fans Don No 18 Test Jersey

On Saturday, May 17, Royal Challengers Bengaluru locked horns against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The start was delayed because of heavy rain in Bengaluru. While it was pouring heavily, the fans did not stop themselves from entering the stadium and pay tribute to their star batter and former captain Virat Kohli. 

Notably, before the start of the match, fans had started a trend where they asked RCB supporters to wear white for the match against KKR to pay tribute to Kohli, who recently announced his retirement from Test cricket. The fans also put Kohli's No.18 Test jersey up for sale outside the stadium and despite the heavy rains, there was a sea of white that took over the stadium. 

Fans Come To Chinnaswamy With Virat's Test Jersey

Instead of the usual sea of red, there was a white backdrop at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where fans wore white jerseys to honour Kohli's legacy. While the rain delayed the start of the game, the camera focus on fans, who wore No.18 Test jersey shirts and also had the sweater on. 


Rain Gets Heavier And Heavier At Chinnaswamay

At the time of writing this article, the fans are still praying for the rain gods to go away as it is still raining cats and dogs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Notably, the cut-off time for a 20-over match is 8:45. Following this, the overs will start getting deducted and post 10:56, the match will be called off. 

In case of a washed out match, RCB will go on top of the table with 17 points in 12 matches, while KKR will be eliminated with 12 points in 13 matches.
