The grand finale of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, set for June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, is poised for a musical tribute to the nation and Indian Armed Forces. Celebrated Bollywood singer Shankar Mahadevan and his sons, Shivam and Siddharth Mahadevan will likely grace the occasion.

The trio will perform a medley of patriotic songs in a revamped closing ceremony in planned homage to the Indian Armed Forces following Operation Sindoor.

Originally planned as a high-profile tribute featuring the presence of the chiefs of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, the closing ceremony has undergone a notable shift after all three service chiefs reportedly declined the BCCI's invitation due to scheduling constraints.

According to a report by NDTV, the BCCI had extended formal invites earlier this week, intending to highlight the bravery and sacrifice of India’s defence forces during Operation Sindoor.

Revised Tribute Plans For IPL 2025 Closing Ceremony

The BCCI had initially planned for a vibrant display of military pride, including live performances from the official bands of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and BSF.

According to reports, Shankar Mahadevan, whose powerful performance of patriotic songs have long resonated with Indian audiences. Joining him on stage will be his sons Shivam and Siddharth Mahadevan both of whom have made a name for themselves in the Indian music industry and are expected to add youthful energy to the evening’s performances.

Adding to this tribute, the stadium will continue to wear a patriotic look, with Indian flags, themed lighting, and symbolic tributes adorning the venue.

On the field, the IPL 2025 final is shaping up to be a blockbuster showdown. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have already secured their place in the final after an emphatic victory over PBKS in Qualifier 1.

Meanwhile, in the Eliminator match, MI knocked out GT to earn a place in Qualifier 2, where they will face PBKS on May 31. The winner of that contest will take on RCB in the final.
