Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is stepping into the cricket broadcast arena, joining JioStar’s star-studded panel for the IPL 2025 playoffs. Known for his deep love for the sport, Aamir Khan will be part of the pre-match shows for both Qualifier 2 on June 1 and the grand finale on June 3. 

According to reports by Business Standard, Aamir Khan will also be joined by actress Genelia D’Souza and the cast of his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par. 

More than a celebrity guest, the star will also make his on-air commentary debut, engaging with cricket legends and former IPL stars in the commentary box during these two matches.

Aamir Khan To Bring Bollywood Glamour In IPL 2025

The 60-year-old actor is no stranger to the world of cricket. From producing Lagaan, to attending matches over the years, Aamir Khan’s enthusiasm for cricket has always been evident. Speaking ahead of his debut as part of the JioStar broadcast team, he said:

“Nothing matches the energy and stakes of the IPL playoffs and I'm quite excited to be at JioStar's studios for these crucial playoff games. Personally, I think both matches are going to be a cracker considering the teams still in contention, and I'm looking forward to commentating off the field.”

Genelia D’Souza and the Sitaare Zameen Par cast will further add to the charm, giving fans a taste of what’s coming next in Bollywood. 

Qualifier 2: A Must Watch Clash

The Qualifier 2 match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), scheduled for Sunday, June 1 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, is a virtual knockout. The winner will earn the right to face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2025 final on Tuesday, June 3, while the loser will bow out of the tournament.
