List Of Bollywood Stars To Perform At WPL 2024 Opening Ceremony

The highly anticipated second season of Women's Premier League (WPL) will commence tomorrow (February 23) and will witness defending champions Mumbai Indians and 2023 runner-up Delhi Capitals.

However, prior to cricketing action, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) have organised a star-studded opening ceremony, which will be  highlighted by a performance by Bollywood Star and IPL franchise co-owner Shah Rukh Khan.


Khan, who has maintained a reclusive outdoor appearance lately, will be seen captivating the audience at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore along with other Bollywood stars —Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Tiger Shroff, Sidharth Malhotra, and Kartik Aaryan. 

Artists like Shahid Kapoor, Dhawan and Shroff have earlier performed at IPL opening ceremonies for the 2015, 2017 and 2018 editions, while Aaryan mesmerised fans during 2018 closing ceremony.

Khan's relationship with BCCI and IPL dates back to 2008, having purchased Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), along with Juhi Chawla. The 58-year-old Bollywood star last performed on stage during International League T20 (ILT20) 2023 opening ceremony in Abu Dhabi. 

Khan has a long-standing involvement in cricket, purchasing T20 teams in other competitions like Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Major League Cricket (MLC), and ILT20. 

Last year's opening ceremony included Bollywood stars like Kriti Sanon, Kiara Advani, and Global Music Enigma AP Dhillon. The soon-to-start WPL 2024 will be played across two cities Bangalore and Delhi, and will go on until March 17.
