The ongoing season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 has not been ideal for the Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi, where the side has yet to get a win under their belt.

However, things could be on the turn around, with Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq joining the Zalmi franchise for the remainder of the tournament after finishing national duties in Sri Lanka.

The 24-year-old took to the social media platform Instagram and confirmed his participation in the ninth season of PSL.

Naveen-ul-Haq shared an 'Instagram' story, captioned 'soon' while being en route to Pakistan. The bowler claimed his three wickets in the three-T20I series, despite being dropped in the final match.

Haq has been a regular feature in other T20 competitions, namely the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), where the pacer has picked up 11 wickets in eight matches. Overall, in 161 T20s, Haq has managed 192 wickets with five four-wicket hauls and one fifer.

The explosive bowler has played 34 T20Is for Afghanistan and scalped 43 wickets with one four-wicket haul at an average of 21.65.

The Afghan pacer will add depth and experience to an inexperienced bowling attack, which consists of Salman Irshad, Umair Afridi, and Waqar Salamkheil.

Meanwhile, Zalmi will hope to notch up their first win of the competition, when they meet first-placed Multan Sultans on Friday. So far, Zalmi in their respective matches against Quetta Gladiators, and Karachi Kings failed to keep the opponents under check with the bowling.
