One of the biggest sporting entities in the world, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is just around the corner, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is leaving no stone unturned to make the upcoming 2024 a massive spectacle.

On Wednesday, the BCCI concluded a bidding process that witnessed My11Circle outbid long-time associate sponsor Dream 11 in the gaming fantasy site category, which has been linked with Team India and IPL. As reported by Cricbuzz, My11Circle, which has Sourav Ganguly, and Shubman Gill as the brand ambassadors submitted a bid of INR 625 Crore for a five-year period, whereas Dream 11 had a bid of INR 515 Crore.

The successful bidders in various categories were Angel One Broking, winning the online category with a bid of INR 82 crore. Rupay, an online payment system, became the third associate sponsor with a bid of INR 70 crore and remained the lone bidder in the category.

Interestingly, all the foreign firms, like Aramco and Saudi Tourism, two of the leading IPL 2023 sponsors did not participate in any associate sponsorships. Meanwhile, CEAT Tyres have retained their sponsorship of strategic timeout, agreeing to pay INR 48 crore per season.

The BCCI have still as many as three associate sponsorship slots unfilled - Umpires, Orange Cap, and Purple Cap - who strangely did not find any bidders last evening. The main title sponsor for the IPL is Tata Sons.
