Akaay, the unique name of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s son, became a viral sensation in 2024, securing the second spot in Google’s most searched list under the “Meaning” sub-category. The couple welcomed their baby boy in February and revealed his name through a heartfelt social media post, sparking a nationwide search frenzy.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are one of India's most recognisable celebrity couples. While they live a pretty private life with the public out of their sights in London, they regularly post updates on social media for the enthusiasm of fans. Such an update caught the internet by storm in February earlier this year. 

Akaay Kohli tops Google trends in 2024

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma announced the birth of their second child, Akaay, in a joint social media post. Between February 18-24, searches for the name “Akaay” peaked, as curious fans flocked to Google to uncover the meaning behind the name. 

Akaay is the word that originated from the Sanskrit and translates into "something without form or body." This seems to hold a direct relationship to the original word, "kaaya," meaning body. The term has Turkish roots too.

Related searches on Google Trends suggest that the search terms "Akaay meaning" and "Akaay Meaning in Hindi" ruled the website. In the meaning subsection, the name ranked second on the most searched list for the year 2024.

Interestingly, in Google’s “Meaning” sub-category, Akaay was only surpassed by “All eyes on Rafah,” a phrase associated with a viral global issue. Other entries in the top five included “Cervical Cancer,” “Tawaif,” and “Demure.”

Anushka Sharma cheers for Kohli in Australia

During the first Test between India and Australia in Perth, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma was captured cheering for her husband, Virat Kohli, from the stands. The couple traveled alone with kids to Australia before the team boarded the flight in November. They were also spotted enjoying a cosy dinner to celebrate their 7-year wedding anniversary on December 11.
