India are in the driving seat in the ongoing Perth Test against the Australian side. After getting bundled out for a mere 150, Indian bowlers had a mountain to climb and they achieved just that by knocking over Australia for a paltry 104, thus taking a 46 run lead.
The Indian assault was led by Jasprit Bumrah, who shone with the ball and picked up his seventh fifer in SENA countries, and his second in Australia. It was due to his outstanding bowling that the Aussies were pushed on the back-foot. At one stage, India were set to take a huge lead, however, Mitchell Starc stood like a brick wall.
The tailender frustrated the Indian bowlers and became the first player from both the sides to play 100 deliveries in this Test match. Just when the home team was getting close to the Indian score, Harshit Rana broke the deadlock and ended Starc's resistance as India had a sigh of relief.
After the last wicket was taken, cameras focused on Anushka Sharma, the wife of Virat Kohli, who, alongside Jasprit Bumrah's wife, Sanjana Ganesan also had a relief and the video has gone viral.
Jaiswal, KL Rahul take India to strong position
India had a 46 run lead and a lot was expected of the opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul. The duo delivered on all fronts as they nullified the new ball attack and have already added more than 100 runs for the opening wicket.
The Perth surfaced eased a bit and the duo took advantage of the situation as both played with a mixture of aggression and caution. Jaiswal was the aggressor and after failing in the first innings, the southpaw responded with a fifty in the second innings.
