In a heartwarming revelation, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) stalwart, Virat Kohli, for the first time, opened up about an important chapter in his life - the arrival of his second child, son Akaay, with his wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma.

This significant life event, celebrated on February 15, 2024, in London, marked a moment of pure joy for the couple, who shared their elation on social media, receiving a deluge of well-wishes from adoring fans and celebrities alike.

A video montage, capturing the reflections of RCB players on the ebbs and flows between the 2023 and 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons, featured Kohli sharing insights into his life's huge shift with the arrival of Akaay.

Virat Kohli, whose life has been under the relentless glare of public scrutiny, described the birth of his son as an “amazing occasion”.

“I feel life just changes constantly and nothing ever remains the same…apart from a really amazing occasion of us having our second child,” said Kohli.

The birth of Virat Kohli’s son prompted the batter to step away from the cricketing arena, taking a personal hiatus during the India versus England Test series, to stand by Anushka's side. His return to the cricketing field, ahead of the IPL 2024 season, was marked by anticipation and support from fans and teammates alike.

However, the path was not without its hurdles; Kohli's return to the pitch in the season opener against the Chennai Super Kings was a bittersweet affair. Despite his efforts, his contribution of 21 runs off 20 balls could not forestall RCB's six-wicket defeat.

Beyond Kohli, the video also focused on the diverse journeys of his teammates - from Faf du Plessis's elbow surgery and Dinesh Karthik's candid reflection on RCB's previous season's disappointments to Mohammed Siraj's rise to the top of ODI bowling and the heartache of India's ICC World Cup 2023 loss.

Meanwhile, as the curtains rise on RCB's upcoming clash with Punjab Kings on March 25, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the focus is firmly on Kohli, as fans and pundits alike wonder if the ace batsman will dust off the cobwebs to reclaim his usual form.
