In a heartening post, Rohit Sharma and Ritika Sajdeh announced the birth of their second child. The post was themed around the American Sitcom, ‘Friends’ and featured animated portraits of Rohit, Ritika, Samaria, and the newborn baby boy as they confirmed the Sharma clan growing into a family of four.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was allowed leave on personal grounds by the BCCI as he skipped travelling to Perth, Australia, with the rest of his teammates to feature in the first game of the Border Gavaskar Test series.

Rumours quickly flared around that Rohit and wife Ritika were expecting a second child, and the latter was spotted flaunting a baby bump on various occasions.

Meanwhile, in the later hours of Friday, November 15, Rohit Sharma and Ritika Sajdeh welcomed a baby boy in Mumbai. The couple was blessed with a second child six years after they had their daughter, Samaira in 2018. To confirm the speculation, Rohit and Ritika posted a joint update on Instagram.

A digitally illustrated family photo symbolised how Rohit Sharma’s family has now grown into a four-member clan. The post was themed around an American series called ‘Friends’ with the iconic door frame penciled just above the family portrait.

While Rohit Sharma celebrates the joyous occasion with his family back home, team India are sweating it out in the intra-squad game at WACA stadium in Perth. The first Test is scheduled at Optus Stadium from November 22.

Can Rohit Sharma return in time for the Perth Test?

The series opener between India and Australia is scheduled from November 22. Captain Rohit Sharma, who is on paternity leave, welcomed his second child on November 15. With 6 days still left for the Perth Test, Rohit’s return cannot be ruled out. Of course, lack of practice could be a key issue, but if India fails to find a dependable replacement, Rohit’s inclusion could be very much on the cards.
