After an impressive showing in the first T20I, a lot was expected of Glenn Maxwell, but the 'Big Show' as they call him failed to deliver and was dismissed by the Pakistan debutant, Sufiyan Muqeem. Maxwell just couldn't get out of the first gear and it costed him his wicket.
Australia were off to a flying start with the bat, with openers Jake Fraser-McGurk and Matthew Short giving a fiery start. However, once the openers were dismissed, Australia crumbled like a pack of cards and the onus was on Maxwell to save the blushes.
However, unlike the first T20I, the all-rounder just couldn't perform at the highest level and looked scratchy throughout the innings. He was at 21 off 20 when Sufiyan got the big breakthrough and dismissed the Australian batter.
With the boundaries in the deep on the longer side, Sufiyan peppered Maxwell with a shorter delivery and the batter went with the flow as he pulled it hard, but didn't get the elevation as the fielder at deep mid wicket took a simple catch.
Haris Rauf's terror strikes again!
Haris Rauf is a completely different bowler when he comes on the Australian shores and it was proven once again in the entire series. He was at his imperial best in the ODIs and continued the same momentum here in the second T20I as well.
When the Australian openers were running away with the contest, Rauf came up and destroyed their top order as he finished with 4 wickets in his spell. Courtesy of Rauf's spell, screws were tightened on Australia's scoring rate as at one stage, they looked well set to cross the 200-run mark.
