In a major boost for Punjab Kings, star leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is likely to return to the playing XI for the crucial IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday, June 1 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. It is important to note that Chahal missed the last three fixtures due to a finger injury, but has reportedly recovered enough to be considered for selection for today's match.
The 34-year-old leggie last featured in PBKS’s lineup during their clash against RR on May 18. Since then, Chahal has been undergoing treatment for his injured finger and was absent during crucial matches, including Qualifier 1 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Mullanpur.
According to reports, Chahal was seen actively participating in fielding drills and practice sessions and even bowled a couple of overs in the nets. It is important to note that if PBKS bat first they can likely bring in Yuzvendra Chahal as an impact-sub in the second innings.
Chahal Ready To Play Through Pain
As per reports by Times of India, Chahal is even willing to take injections if required to manage pain and ensure his availability. A team source confirmed that he is 'highly motivated' to feature in this must-win game and has shown significant signs of recovery over the past few days.
