The on-going India versus Prime Minister's XI clash is on in full-swing despite facing early setbacks and currently it's KL Rahul who has grabbed the limelight with his performance. The talented KL smashed a picture-perfect straight drive to Scott Boland during the game.
The Karnataka born batter looked in good touch while familiarising with the Aussie conditions ahead of the Adelaide Test. After slamming 27 runs off 44 balls, KL Rahul went off the field, retiring hurt as he had enough practice with the pink ball. In his place skipper Rohit Sharma came out to bat alongside Shubman Gill.
Despite him retiring hurt, KL's performance and his magnificent shot will be remembered by all. During the 8th over, Scott Boland over pitched and bowled a half-volley on the off stump from over the wicket. The right-handed wicket-keeper batter, presented the full face of the bat and drove it neatly past the bowler, who was nutmegged as the ball ran towards the boundary in a jiffy.

India had a brilliant bowling effort from the first innings of the rain-shortened 46-overs-per-side practice match against Australia Prime Minister's XI, restricting their hosts to 240 in 43.2 overs. Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep struck quickly after choosing to bowl first, but a 100-run third-wicket stand between Jack Clayton and 19-year-old centurion Sam Konstas steadied the innings.
Konstas impressed with a classy century, while Hanno Jacobs provided vital support with a late 50-plus partnership for the eighth wicket, lifting the side from 138/7 to a competitive total. Harshit Rana was India's standout bowler, taking four wickets in his last six balls, while Akash Deep claimed two, and Siraj, Sundar, Prasidh Krishna, and Jadeja picked up each wicket.
India was chasing 241, and had an early jolt. Yashasvi Jaiswal went after scoring 45 runs, and KL Rahul retired soon after that. Shubman Gill joined the crease with captain Rohit Sharma following him soon, but the skipper's innings ended quickly as he was dismissed for just three runs.
At the time of writing, India are at 119/2 with Gill and Nitish Kumar Reddy out in the middle. Meanwhile, India and Australia will meet in the pink-ball Test in Adelaide from December 6 onwards.
