The IPL 2025 auction brought big changes for Mumbai Indians (MI) and one of the most emotional moments was Ishan Kishan leaving the team. After seven successful years with MI, the talented left-hander was picked up by SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) for a whopping ₹11.25 crore.

Mumbai Indians' captain, Hardik Pandya, shared a heartfelt message for his former teammate. In a touching video posted on social media, Pandya expressed his admiration and affection for Ishan, calling him MI’s “pocket dynamo.”

Pandya described Ishan as the team’s “freshness and energy,” always keeping the dressing room lively and making everyone smile.

He added, “That love and warmth came naturally to him. There will be less cake smashing and pranks in the dressing room without Ishan. He brought so much love to this team, and we are going to miss that.”

Pandya ended his message by telling Ishan, “You’ll always be MI’s pocket dynamo. We all love you and will miss you.”

Ishan Kishan’s Journey With MI

Ishan Kishan started his IPL journey with Gujarat Lions in 2016 at just 17 years old. In 2018, Mumbai Indians signed him for ₹6.2 crore. Over the years, Ishan became an integral part of MI, shining in the 2020 season as the highest run-scorer in the team with 516 runs.

In the year 2022, MI spent a record ₹15.25 crore to retain him. However, despite his consistent performances, MI couldn't afford to retain the wicket-keeper batter for IPL 2025 due to their already heavy spending on key players like Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tilak Varma.

While Ishan’s departure marked the end of an era, MI remained active in the auction. The franchise added 18 new players to their squad, including big names like Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Will Jacks, and Mitchell Santner.
