Dinesh Karthik, the Indian cricketer turned commentator, recently found himself in a humorous situation when a fan on social media mistook him for Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey. However, Karthik turned the mix-up into a delightful exchange with his quick humour.

Dinesh Karthik, a former Indian wicket-keeper batter, was once one of India's finest wicket-keepers. However, MS Dhoni's stronghold behind the stumps leads to a decrease in opportunities for Karthik.

Regardless, the Chennai lad fought his way through to achieve success in limited-overs cricket and franchise leagues.

He recently announced his retirement from the IPL and was later appointed batting coach of his ex-team RCB. Dinesh Karthik also signed up for the SA20 season as a brand ambassador and a player for Paarl Royals. Besides Karthik is actively pursuing his side quest, which is commentating.

Having said that, recently, Dinesh Karthik was mistaken for Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey on social media. Massey, who rose to fame after the movie' 12th Fail' massive success, played lead in the recently released movie' Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba.'

A social media user meant to congratulate Vikrant Massey for the movie but ended up tagging Dinesh Karthik's social media handle.

Meanwhile, instead of ignoring the error or correcting the fan outright, Karthik chose to respond with a playful twist. He replied, "Oh wow!! Thanks," with two laughing emojis.

That being said, the comparison between Dinesh Karthik and Vikrant Massey isn't entirely far-fetched, as they both share a somewhat similar look, with their well-groomed beards and charismatic smiles.

Hence, such confusions often arise every now and then. But this time, Karthik decided to play along instead of clearing up the confusion.
