A fresh wave of gossip has taken over social media, hinting at a possible new Cricket-Bollywood couple in town. According to online chatter, India vice-captain Shreyas Iyer and popular actress Mrunal Thakur may be quietly dating. 

While rumours like these pop up often, this one has grabbed extra attention after a Reddit user claimed that the two have been seeing each other for a few months.

The post suggested that Shreyas and Mrunal are in the early stages of what seems to be a “private and exclusive” relationship. According to the rumour, there’s no confusion or drama, just two people getting along well and enjoying each other’s company. It further claimed that the duo has chosen to keep things low-key. 

Notably, the reason said to be that both are in high-pressure careers. Shreyas is a star cricketer with a massive fanbase, and Mrunal is at an important point in her acting journey. The couple, if the rumours are true, reportedly prefers to avoid being spotted in public to prevent media attention from putting unnecessary pressure on the relationship.

The speculation also mentions that they usually meet through close friends or at each other’s homes instead of attending public events together.

However, it is important to remember that none of this has been confirmed by either Shreyas or Mrunal. So far, these remain unverified claims floating on social media, and fans are advised to take them with a pinch of salt.

On the cricketing front, Shreyas Iyer is currently recovering from a spleen laceration, a serious injury he suffered during the ODI series against Australia in Sydney on October 25, 2025. This has kept him out of action for now.

Mrunal Thakur, on the other hand, continues to shine in the film industry. The 33-year-old actress studied in Jalgaon and Mumbai before leaving college to pursue television. She first became a household name through the TV show Kumkum Bhagya.
