The much-awaited IPL mega auction is just around the corner. The event takes place every three years and gives a golden opportunity to the IPL teams to fine-tune their combination ahead of the lucrative league. As the IPL teams gear up for this year's mega auction, AB de Villiers has suggested four picks for his former franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
De Villiers Urges RCB To Picks Rabada, Bhuvneshwar, Ashwin and Chahal
Speaking on his YouTube channel, RCB's legendary batter AB de Villiers reckoned that the perennial underachievers should repurchase ace Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the mega auction.
Notably, Chahal used to be the backbone of RCB's bowling attack, scalping 139 wickets in 113 outings for the Bengaluru-based team. As Rajasthan Royals have released him to the mega auction pool, De Villiers has urged RCB to grab the opportunity and secure Chahal's services for the IPL 2025.
The former South African captain also stated that Kagiso Rabada and Bhuvneshwar Kumar would be excellent buys for RCB, as the team is searching for someone to lead their pace battery. He also backed Ravichandran Ashwin for a wildcard entry into the RCB camp, given that the veteran bowler has been a proven match-winner with his wily spin bowling.
RCB's Retained Players For IPL 2025
Royal Challengers Bengaluru released several familiar faces, including Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj. While Virat Kohli was their first retention for INR 21 Crores, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal bagged lucrative deals worth eleven and five crores, respectively.
