Pakistan's newly appointed captain Mohammad Rizwan is on the verge of overtaking Sarfaraz Ahmed on an elite list. Led by Rizwan, Pakistan will face Australia in the second One-Day International of the ongoing three-match series at Adelaide Oval tomorrow. Ahead of the high-voltage clash, Rizwan eyes a phenomenal milestone, as he has a golden opportunity to etch his name in history.

Rizwan Eyes A Remarkable Feat In 2nd ODI vs Australia

Since making his debut, Mohammad Rizwan has been a valuable asset for Pakistan, especially in the shorter formats. The gritty keeper-batter had a decent outing in the series opener against Australia at the MCG, scoring 44 runs before being dismissed by Marnus Labuschagne.

However, the second ODI in Adelaide gives him an opportunity to regain his mojo and play a significant knock for his side. Rizwan, the only Pakistani keeper-batter with 1000-plus runs against Australia, can eclipse former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed in most fifty-plus scores as a designated keeper versus the mighty Aussies.

Currently, both Rizwan and Sarfaraz have an equal number of fifty-plus scores against Australia in international cricket. So, if Rizwan slams a fifty tomorrow, he will go past Sarfaraz and create history.

Pakistan Aim To Restore Parity In Adelaide

Pakistan had a torrid start to the series, as Australia pipped them by two wickets in the first ODI. Batting first, the Men in Green fell like a pack of cards against Australia's rampant bowling department. Chasing 204, Australia had a mini collapse, but Pat Cummins ensured they went past the finish line, scoring an unbeaten 32-run knock. So, considering it's a must-win affair for them, Pakistan must be eyeing redemption in this game.
