India are all set to lock horns against South Africa in a three-match T20I series on November 8, but the fans are still upset over the recent series defeat against New Zealand at home.
Notably, the Tom Latham-led side became the first team in history to whitewash India in India in a three-match series. The players and coaches were under criticism for the performance, and the latest to join the bandwagon is former India opener Robin Uthappa.
Uthappa Slams CSK For Not Putting Country First
Notably, Uthappa shed light on a new angle and rather took a dig at CSK for allowing Rachin Ravindra to use their academy ahead of India's first Test against New Zealand.
“Rachin Ravindra came here and practised at the CSK Academy. CSK is a beautiful franchise that will always look after its franchise players, but a line has to be drawn where the interest of the country comes ahead of your franchise players, especially when he is a foreign player and comes and plays against our country,” Uthappa said on his YouTube channel.

It is worth noting that Ravindra shone in that match and scored a century. Rather, Rachin won the player of the match award for his performance. His knock helped the Kiwis beat India in Tests for the first time in 36 years.
“I am not surprised that CSK always go over and above for their players but somewhere in that kindness, maybe I am not saying the right thing, I absolutely love CSK, but when it comes to the country, there should be a line somewhere where we do not cross that line,” he added.
It is worth noting that CSK bought Rachin in IPL 2024 mini-auction but was released ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction. Talking about Uthappa, he featured for the Kings in 2021 and 2022.
