Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have retained Virat Kohli for a whopping INR 21 crore before they go into bidding wars in the upcoming IPL mega auction. Alongside Kohli, the Red and Gold Brigade have kept Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal in their unit, for INR 11 crore and INR 4 crore respectively.
The moves also mean there won't be Faf du Plessis and Mohammed Siraj, among many other superstars such as Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green and Will Jacks in their lineup, although a chance to bring them back by applying right-to-match cards are still available.

1st Retention For RCB for IPL 2025 - Virat Kohli
Was that even a question? Virat Kohli will once again represent RCB, this time by becoming the highest-paid retained player in IPL among Indians.
2nd Retention For RCB for IPL 2025 - Rajat Patidar
This was a brilliant move by RCB, keeping Patidar in their core. The 31-year-old is a solid retention at INR 11 crore, and surely, he would get more money if he would have left the franchise. However, Patidar also received a pay cut to give Kohli an extra salary.
Uncapped Retention For RCB for IPL 2025 - Yash Dayal
Dayal impressed with the ball last year in the competition, and has been rewarded with a well-deserved retention. Nevertheless, keeping Dayal instead of Siraj by RCB could potentially be due to their salary differences.
