The netizens went wild after the Royal Challengers Bangalore lifted their first-ever trophy, as Smriti Mandhana-led RCB Women became the champions of the Women's Premier League Season 2 by defeating the Delhi Capitals.

The long wait of 16 years ends here for the RCB fans and it's the Women in Red, who have brought the cup home for the first time. Whether it was the 16 years of IPL, a few seasons of Champions League and one season of Women's Premier League, it all came down to this as Smriti Mandhana became the first-ever RCB captain to win a championship in RCB colours

It was pure domination from the RCB team, as they restricted the Capitals to just 113 runs in the high-voltage final and then held their nerves with a cautious start of just 25 runs in the powerplay while chasing.

It still came down to the last over, but Richa Ghosh, who is known as the power-hitter, smacked a boundary to seal the chase and the cup and even put an end to the long wait of the fans.

Here are some reactions from the beloved 'Ee Sala Cup Namde' Family:

One of the fans expressed his feelings by recognising the power of women and wrote 'Women did what men could not do for 16 years'.

A fan calls it a generous act as he states that RCB followed the tradition of Ladies first. The women lifted the trophy in the second year, while the RCB men still haven't even after 16 years.

A fan felt pity for the RCB men's team since they have not won any trophies in the last 16 years but the RCB women's team did it in only their second season, thus expressing the same with a meme.

Another fan compared RCB's first title win with a Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma scene where the man gave his all to lift the cylinder while the woman character lifted it like a piece of paper. The fan compared the situation with RCB's men's and women's teams.

A fan called Ellyse Perry the Wonder Woman, who became the leading run-scorer of the tournament and also played a vital knock of 35 runs.

A fan used a Bollywood movie scene where the character is seeking blessings before going somewhere and used Kohli as the character showing he is seeking blessings from Mandhana and Ellyse Perry.

A fan reminds the RCB men's team that it's been 16 years and they are yet to win a trophy and also congratulated the women's team.

After this historic win in the franchise's career, the pressure of winning an IPL trophy will probably increase from here, as the Women in Red have done it in their second year. Well, we are just a few days away from witnessing the RCB men's team stepping out on the field for the Indian Premier League 2024, the hope still stays intact and the slogan 'Ee Sala Cup Namde' will still go on.
