Ellyse Perry formulated a match-winning 35* in a tense run-chase for RCB against Delhi Capitals in their high-octane WPL 2024 title clash in Delhi. Arriving to the crease at 49-1 while chasing 114 runs to win, Perry kept composure on a turning Arun Jaitley surface to steer her side past the finishing line in the final over of the match.

Through the course of her tournament-winning knock for RCB, the Australian legend also soared past her former national teammate and Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning to become the highest run-getter of the WPL 2024 season.

Perry snatches away title and Orange Cap from Lanning

Ellyse Perry listed a near run-a-ball 35* to take RCB to an eight-wicket victory against Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals in the WPL 2024 final.

Apart from snatching away the title from the season’s table-toppers, the Australian all-rounder also seized the much-celebrated ‘Orange Cap’ from her ex-national teammate Lanning.

Perry’s 35* extended her WPL 2024 tally to 347 runs, thus finishing the competition 16 runs ahead of the Capitals skipper.

In hindsight, Perry also holds a superior seasonal average of 69.4 in comparison to Lanning’s 36.77.

Remarkably, RCB’s legendary Australian import also made her presence felt with the ball in their title-winning run.

In a must-win game for her side against defending champions Mumbai Indians, the all-rounder snared six wickets at the expense of just 15 runs in her four-over spell. Capping the tournament with 347 runs, seven wickets and a title; Ellyse Perry surely unfurled one of the best all-round performances of a season.
