As per emerging reports, veteran Indian keeper-batter KL Rahul has travelled to England amid talks of his comeback to the national setup.

As reported by the Times Of India, the severity of Rahul's quadriceps injury couldn't be diagnosed by the specialists in India, which is why the batter has moved to the UK in pursuit of a speedy recovery.

After playing the first Test in Hyderabad, the stylish batter from Karnataka missed the subsequent three games due to injury. Although the BCCI medical team hasn't found any significant damage to his quads, Rahul has been complaining of discomfort in that region.

In such a scenario, uncertainty looms over his availability for the last Test, which will start in Dharamsala on March 7. If reports are to be believed, the middle-order batter is set to miss the final dead rubber, giving an under-performing Rajat Patidar one last chance in the red-ball format.

Talking about Patidar, the RCB batter has failed to live up to his potential, managing only 63 runs in six innings at a mediocre average of 10.50.

Although he is yet to fire in the series, the Indian team management can't release him from the squad, with Rahul struggling with an injury setback.

As India are unlikely to persist with Patidar, prominent Karnataka batter Devdutt Padikkal might make his Test debut in Dharamsala, riding on his recent success in the domestic circuit.

On the other hand, it remains to be seen if Rahul will return to the national side or make his comeback through the much-awaited IPL 2024 season.
