Jay Shah, sitting BCCI secretary is likely to file his nomination for ICC chairman, and if elected, DDCA president Rohan Jaitley is frontrunner to replace him as secretary of the governing body of Indian cricket.

Jay Shah, son of Indian Home Minister Amit Shah, is one of the most influential and powerful administrators in world cricket.

Under his reign, the BCCI scaled new heights in terms of revenue, and Team India ended the much-needed ICC trophy drought in Barbados.

However, Jay Shah now intends to expand his footprint globally and is expected to file his nomination to take over as ICC president.

Meanwhile, Rohan Jaitley, Indian lawmaker and DDCA sitting president, is touted as the frontrunner to replace Jay Shah.

Who Is Arun Jaitley's Son?

Rohan Jaitley was born into a family with a strong political and legal background. His father, the late Arun Jaitley, was a senior BJP leader and served as India’s Finance Minister.

Meanwhile, Rohan pursued his education in law from Cornell University, following in his father’s footsteps to become a practising lawyer. He is a practising law at Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High court.

Besides lawmaking, Rohan Jaitely is also equally involved in cricketing affairs. Jaitley was unanimously elected as Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) president in 2023.

Although relatively young in the field of cricket administration, Rohan Jaitley has already begun to establish a reputation for being proactive and committed to the development of the sport, especially in the state of Delhi.

Moreover, due to his strong ties with the central government, Rohan Jaitley is likely to take over as BCCI secretary, thus succeeding Jay Shah.
