As Mumbai gears up for the festive season, devotees have decided to pay tribute to Team India this year by crafting a special T20 World Cup trophy-themed Ganesh Idol.

The Indian cricketer team ended the wait of 10 long years to clinch an ICC trophy on June 29 in Barbados.

Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, beat South Africa in the finals of the 2024 T20 World Cup to get crowned as the ultimate T20 World Champions.

The iconic moment was celebrated across the country, especially in the city of Mumbai, where the victory parade took place.

Mumbai Ready For Ganesh Chaturthi

Meanwhile, the city of Mumbai is still celebrating Team India’s triumph as they recently welcomed a unique Ganpati Idol ahead of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

As per several pictures surfacing on the internet, a special Ganpati Idol is being carried through the streets of Mumbai where the mushak is carrying the T20 World Cup trophy replica on his head. The theme is designed to pay a tribute to the cricket team and celebrate the triumph.

Mumbai, often considered the cricketing capital of India, has always had a deep connection with the sport. The city is home to many legendary cricketers, and cricket fever runs high throughout the year.

By celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with a T20 World Cup theme, Mumbaikars are combining their devotion with their passion for cricket.

In addition to the themed idols, many pandals will organise cricket-themed events and activities throughout the ten-day festival.

That being said, the Indian team is currently enjoying a 40-day break from international cricket and will resume action with the Bangladesh series starting on 19th September.
