Manish Pandey deemed his comeback to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) a pleasant homecoming as the Karnataka right-hander returns to the fold for the two-time champions for the first time in seven years with the IPL 2024.

Pandey, who had a fruitful run for the KKR franchise from IPL 2014 to 2017 before being snatched by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for INR 11 crores at the mega auction, finally makes a comeback to a set-up which gave him the chance to expand his wings with his former skipper Gautam Gambhir showing a huge vote of confidence.

Just when the 34-year-old Indian batter's IPL career seemed over during the bidding war in Dubai, KKR raised their peddle for him at base prize of INR 50 lakhs as Gambhir offered Manish a new lease of life, something the cricketer was grateful for.

Manish Pandey On KKR Comeback

"Coming back after six years... 2017 was the last time we played. Coming back to KKR feels really good, feels like home. Spent four years here so KKR as a franchise has given me a lot in terms of my career, and in return what we have given to KKR is also our utmost effort and a trophy," Manish was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

"Obviously, it feels very good coming back home, and with Gauti bhai as mentor coming back is also very special because we have a great history before, we've won the IPL before. So it feels good," he added.

An integral part of KKR's middle-order, Manish helped the franchise clinch their most recent IPL silverware in 2014 with a majestic knock of 94 in the final against the Punjab Kings (PBKS). He has played 51 matches for the franchise and scored 1,270 runs.
