Virat Kohli's bond and relationship with childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma continues to flourish as the legendary Indian batter is still grateful and highly respectful of the man's influence and impact on his journey from an ambitious Delhite to a bonafide modern-day batting great.

In response, Sharma has always been caring about his ward and continues to provide him timely guidance and inputs about his game, reinforcing his love and warmth with the record-breaking cricketer, who hasn't forgotten his roots and humble beginnings.

It was thus one of the most special moments of the IPL 2023 when Kohli reunited with his guru on the familial turf of the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi, where his path towards ultimate greatness began.

When Virat Kohli Reunited With His Childhood Coach

As Kohli revisited his original home ground for Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) league stage encounter with the Delhi Capitals (DC), he spotted his childhood coach Rajkumar during a practise session before the game started.

Despite achieving an unparalleled place in world cricket, Kohli made sure he met and greeted the man who shaped his fortunes and touched his feet as a mark of respect. The heartwarming gesture warmed the heart of Rajkumar, who then gave his old ward a nice hug.

The IPL 2023 was a fruitful affair for Kohli after facing a rare dip in his game in the previous three editions of the league at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. Not quite enjoying his time amidst bio-secure bubbles and empty stands, Kohli struggled to extract his best output.

However, he made amends when IPL finally returned to its normal, home-and-away format and smashed a whopping 639 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 139.82, including six fifties and two hundreds.
