Mumbai Indians (MI) opener Rohit Sharma is set to turn up for the franchise in their upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Ahead of the much-anticipated contest, the cricketer took to nets for an extensive training session alongside the rest of his teammates on April 11. 

At one point of the session, as shared by the MI franchise on their social media platforms, Sharma launched a straight hit off a full-length delivery before standing still to admire his glorious shot.

On April 11, Rohit Sharma took part in a Mumbai Indians training session ahead of their IPL 2024 clash against the visiting RCB team at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

Sharma, known for his thumping pulls and elegant drives, launched a six straight over the net bowler’s head at one point of his session. 

The cricketer seems to have been left awestruck by his own shot as the 37-year-old briefly stood still to admire his brutal hit down the ground.

Rohit Sharma recently punched out a match-winning 27-ball 49 against Delhi Capitals in match number 20 of the IPL 2024 season back on April 7. 

The cricketer has already tallied 118 runs from just four innings so far this year at an average of nearly 30.

A couple of months ago, Sharma was stripped from his decade-long captaincy role by the Mumbai Indians team management in favor of dashing all-rounder Hardik Pandya. 

The move sparked widespread outrage among several fans of the cricketer, with many resorting to abuses and online trolling for the newly-appointed skipper.
