Team India defeated Afghanistan in the first two T20I matches, winning by six wickets on both occasions, taking a 2–0 lead in the three-match series.
The first T20I match took place at Mohali, while the second was held at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore - where the hosts dominated throughout, securing a one-sided victory over Afghanistan.
The third T20I, which is now a dead rubber, is scheduled for Wednesday, January 17, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Meanwhile, Team India has already arrived at the venue a day ahead of the match.
In an unexpected turn, Rishabh Pant surprised the Indian players by joining them during their practice. He seemed to enjoy his time, engaging in lively conversations with Virat Kohli, Rinku Singh, and other team members.

Rishabh Pant has been out of action in cricket since the severe car crash near Uttarakhand in December 2022, where his vehicle collided with a divider and caught fire.
