The 15th edition of the ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup is slated to start on January 19, 2024. South Africa has been awarded the hosting rights for the tournament, taking over from Sri Lanka, the initial host.

The ICC, in response to political interference, suspended Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, prompting South Africa to host the U-19 World Cup for the third time.

Format 

This edition introduces a novel format where the three top teams from each of the four groups will move into a revamped Super Six stage, set to begin on January 30.

Following this, two groups of six teams will compete to decide the Semi-Finalists and, ultimately, the finalists. Teams in the lower standings will participate in placement games to finalise positions 13 to 16.
